Sorry to say this guys, but unfortunately all is not well at Ferrari.
Before the attacks on what i am about to post, let me say this. The information presented here is from the same source who informed of Kimi's move to Ferrari, Luca moving Michael aside for Kimi, and Alonso's move to Ferrari all well before it become common knowledge. Don't ask me to provide contact names, either take it as valid information or don't.
A total of fifteen drivers raced Sunday's Australian Grand Prix with new engines after the majority of the field opted against completing two race weekends on a single engine. Under the current rule of eight engines per driver per season, teams can choose to change their engines whenever they see fit, so long as they do not exceed the eight-engine allocation.
The engine changes took place despite the Albert Park circuit not being notably severe on engines, although it does follow the trend set last year when most teams changed their engines for round 2. The list of drivers who had their engines changed on Saturday afternoon were both McLarens, Mercedes, Ferraris, Force Indias, Toro Rossos, Lotuses, as well as Red Bull's Mark Webber and Virgin's Lucas Di Grassi.
With Ferrari replacing the engines in Massa and Alonso's cars it means that the duo have already eaten into three engines, having made precautionary changes before the season-opener in Bahrain. With 17 rounds remaining, the championship favourites have just five new engines for each of the drivers, which could well become a problem later in the season.
Following his engine failure early in the Bahrain Grand Prix due to cooling issues on his HRT, Bruno Senna began the weekend on Friday with a new engine.
